End view of large kitchen island. The island contained a second oven and dishwasher as well, as all other available space was configured for storage.
This is a rather large storage cabinet. It had to be brought in in three pieces. Once installed the large crown and accent lighting were added. Note the fit to the wall and the fit to the intersecting hutch.
This is the main cooking area. Great appliances, granite, and tile by others. It's hard to see, but if you look closely under the lower cabinet doors there are wide shallow drawers that automatically project when actuated with a light toe push. The drawers are only a couple of inches deep but utilize the wasted "kick space" and are great for cooking sheets, serving trays, and other flat cookware.
Our customer was very forthcoming on what she wanted. She made the job much easier with good sketches and photos from magazines. She knew what she wanted and that's what she wanted. Try and try again ... it took me about five tries to get this hood perfect.
This was fun. The tile floor dropped off to the right over an inch in just a few feet. Did I say we don't do kitchen cabinets? ... The box for the fridge had to fit very closely to maintain the desired built-in look. The manufacturer's instructions made the panels for the doors simple. ... Again, the large crown molding and accent lighting were added after installation.
Again, the slope of the floor made the leveling and trim of these pieces a bit challanging. This kitchen was the first project were we utilized the Blum soft closing hidden drawer slides. These slides are so innovative that their design has since been duplicated by most if not all manufacturers.
The light pigmented stains and lacquer finish allow the beautiful grain of the pecan wood panels to show through. The accent lighting, tile work, and talented photographer make this kitchen project a real show piece.
The home's exterior design is French Country / Old South Louisiana. The addition of the true timber v-groove ceiling and beams add to the warmth and feeling of the room.
Great symmetry, fit, and color.
The stains and finish speak volumes for the quality of the cabinets here.
